Visitation is Saturday for St. Charles Teen Found Fatally Stabbed in DeKalb

Moore Desroches is being remembered as a loving mom with a vibrant personality. Her boyfriend, Michael Kulpin, is accused of killing her.

ST. CHARLES, IL - Funeral services have been set for this Saturday for the 19-year-old woman who was found murdered in DeKalb last weekend and who is being remembered as a loving mom to her young son.

A visitation for Moorea Desroches of St. Charles has been set for Saturday, June 11, from 2 to 5 p.m. followed by a short service at 5 p.m. at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 E. Main Street, according to her obituary.

Desroches boyfriend, Michael Kulpin, 20, of is charged with two counts of first-degree murder in connection with Desroches’ death. He is accused of beating and stabbing her following a verbal argument that broke out between the two Friday night and early Saturday. Police found Desroches’ body Sunday night in her DeKalb apartment.

At the time of her death, Moorea lived with her mother, Susan; father, Sean, brother, Colin; sister, Isabelle; and her almost 2-year-old son, Isaac, according to Desroches’ obituary.

The teen was described as beautiful and vibrant and a loving mom.

“She loved her boy more than anything in the world. He absolutely adored his mom,” according to her obituary.
Her past interests included soccer, violin and horseback riding. She attended St. Charles North High School and recently worked at Portillo’s Restaurant in Batavia, according to her obituary.
