St. Charles Woman Struck, Killed by Car While Celebrating 80th Birthday in Florida
A valet was helping Carol Ryan into her car when a BMW struck Ryan. She later died at a Florida hospital.

ST. CHARLES, IL - A St. Charles woman celebrating her 80th birthday this past Wednesday was killed after being hit by a BMW while a valet helped her into her car outside a resort in Naples, Fla.
Carol Ryan was leaving her birthday dinner at the Vanderbilt Beach Resort in North Naples, which houses the landmark restaurant The Turtle Club, when she and the 32-year-old valet who was assisting her were struck by a 2015 BMW sedan, the Naples Daily News reports.
The BMW Sedan, driven by John Rodd Glancy, 66, of North Naples, had pulled up behind a Buick driven by Norman Racine, 82, of St. Charles, when the BMW hit the Buick and then veered right and hit Ryan and the valet, William Espinosa, 32, of Naples.

Ryan was taken to NCH North Naples Hospital where she later died, according to Naples Daily News. Espinosa was taken to the hospital as well but later released.
Glancy was cited for suspicion of careless driving, the Daily Herald reports.

Glancy and the four people in his car were not injured, according to Fox 4 News in Florida.
