Use 'Extreme Caution' On Snowy, Icy Roads: Kane County Sheriff
The Kane County Sheriff's office urges everyone to use extreme caution by remembering these simple rules when driving in wintry weather.
KANE COUNTY, IL — While Kane County and several other counties across the Chicago area prepare to be under a winter storm watch from 3 a.m. Saturday to 3 a.m. Sunday, the Kane County Sheriff's office reminds everyone to please be extra careful if you decide to head out on the roads. The sheriff's office urges everyone to use extreme caution by remembering these simple rules when driving in ice and/or snow:
- Only travel if you really need to.
- Slow down.
- Increase the distance between your car and the car in front of you.
- Be prepared with charged cell phones, extra coats, blankets, winter clothing, water and food.
