Visitation, Funeral Set for St. Charles Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash

Jordan Hale, 25, is being remembered for his love of animals and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

A visitation and funeral service has been set for a 25-year-old St. Charles man killed last week in a motorcycle crash.

A visitation for Jordan Hale will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, July 14, with a “time of sharing” to take place at 8 p.m. at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 E. Main St. in St. Charles. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 400 Cedar St. in St. Charles. Burial will follow at North Cemetery.

Hale was killed after his motorcycle collided with a flatbed truck on Route 25 just south of Elgin on Friday afternoon.

Hale was traveling north on Route 25 when his motorcycle collided with a Ford L9000 flatbed truck, which was traveling south on Route 25 and was beginning to turn east into the parking lot of an industrial park near 9N501 Route 25, according to a Kane County Sheriff’s Office press release. The crash occurred in the northbound lane of Route 25 at about 2:45 p.m. on Friday

Hale was taken to Saint Joseph Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the Ford, David Odman, 50, of South Elgin, was taken to Sherman Hospital in Elgin with minor injuries.

Hale was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Hale is being remembered for his love for animals, vacations and for spending time with family and friends He attended the Scarecrow Festival in St. Charles every October since birth, according to his obituary. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle, designing and building his own computers, video gaming, FROLF (frisbee golf and disk golf), and skateboarding. Jordan was employed at Prime Burger House on the Grand Victoria Casino boat in Elgin.

His parents, Bill (William) and Cindy (Cynthia) Hale are both lifelong residents of St. Charles. Jordan has two brothers, Jeremy and Jason Hale.
