Your Guide To St. Patrick's Day Festivities In St. Charles
A parade, musical entertainment and more will take place in downtown St. Charles on March 9.

ST. CHARLES, IL — It's almost that time of year again.
Next weekend, St. Charles will host its annual St. Patrick's Day Parade and festivities in downtown St. Charles, according to a news release from the city of St. Charles.
The downtown festivities will kick off at 11 a.m. on March 9. with the opening ceremony on the 1st Street Plaza, which is near Gia Mia and McNally’s Irish Pub & Kitchen. The ceremony will feature performances from Irish Dancers and Bagpipers, according to the news release from the St. Charles Business Alliance.

While downtown, visitors can choose to take part in the St. Patrick-themed scavenger hunt. More information on the scavenger hunt can be found online.
The St. Patrick's Day parade will step off at 2 p.m. at 6th Street. The parade will travel down Main Street and will end at 4th Avenue. The parade will include bagpipers, local award-winning marching bands and elaborate and colorful parade entries, according to a news release.

There will also be a lucky photo station, located on Riverside Avenue across from Pollyanna Brewing & Distilling. Individuals are encouraged to take a festive photo and to share using @stcalliance or @travelstcharles for the chance to be featured on the St. Charles Business Alliance’s social media.
Several businesses will be hosting special sales and specials during the festivities and there will also be a Shamrockin’ St Charles 8k and 1 mile family fun walk at Pottawatomie Park at 10 a.m. Those interested in registering can do so online.
Jenna Sawicki, executive director for the St. Charles Business Alliance, says she is looking forward to this year’s event.
“The St. Charles St. Patrick’s Parade is always an exciting tradition and is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate with the community,” Sawicki said. “We hope that everyone is able to come downtown to enjoy all the family-friendly activities taking place, and I encourage everyone to support the amazing local businesses that we have in St. Charles.”
