Attempted Home Burglary; Stolen Items At Fair: Wheaton Police Blotter
Wheaton police are investigating an attempted home burglary, thefts and other crimes that took place in mid- to late July.

WHEATON, IL — Police are investigating an attempted car and home burglary that took place on Lorraine Road, thefts at DuPage County Fairgrounds and other incidents, per this installment of the Wheaton crime blotter.
Attempted Home Burglary
Someone tried to get into an apartment in the 1000 block of Lorraine Road, according to police. On the evening of July 26, police say the home's doorknob was loose and there were markings on the door trim that appeared to have been made by a tool. The incident took place between 9:10 p.m. and 10:15 p.m.

Attempted Car Burglary
Police are investigating an attempted car burglary that was reported in the 1000 block of Lorraine Road on July 24. According to the city's crime blotter, the car's back window had been broken, along with its steering column. The incident took place between 8 p.m. on July 23 and 8:25 a.m. on July 24.

Banjo Stolen from DuPage County Fairgrounds
A banjo was stolen from a display case at DuPage County Fairgrounds, 2015 Manchester Rd. The theft took place in building one between 5:30 p.m. on July 26 and 2:30 p.m. on July 27.
IPhone Stolen at DuPage County Fairgrounds
Someone stole an iPhone from a vendor table at DuPage County Fairgrounds around 3:15 p.m. on July 28.
Shirt Stolen at DuPage County Fairgrounds
A shirt that had been entered in a fashion contest was stolen from DuPage County Fairgrounds between July 26 and July 28.
