Caution Urged As Crews Clear Snow, Salt Streets In Wheaton
Wheaton Public Works hit the streets Wednesday morning after temperatures dropped, bringing snow and ice to the city.
WHEATON, IL — Residents were urged to travel with caution as crews from Wheaton Public Works salted and cleared streets following snowfall and a drop in temperatures Wednesday morning.
An update from the City of Wheaton said temperatures were "quickly dropping," which could lead to dangerous driving conditions on roads that had not been treated. Drivers were advised to make way for salt trucks and snow plows during their commute.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), Wednesday was set to bring "periods of snow showers in the morning, and a chance of snow showers and/or flurries in the afternoon, followed by accumulating lake effect snow focusing into parts of northwest Indiana late in the day Wednesday into Thursday morning,"
