Joseph William Mangan: Sept. 18, 1935 – Jan. 8, 2026
Joseph William Mangan, 90, was a Wheaton resident for 25 years.

WHEATON, IL — With heavy hearts, we share that Joseph William Mangan passed away peacefully on January 8, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Joe lived a full and meaningful life, shaped by deep devotion to his family, lifelong friendships, curiosity, and kindness. He and his beloved wife, Thyra, built a life rich with love and adventure—raising their three daughters, forming enduring friendships, and creating countless memories together, including several years spent enjoying life in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
In later years, Joe made his home in Wilmington, North Carolina, where he spent many happy years enjoying the warm weather, tennis, and the company of close friends, before settling in Glenview, Illinois, near his youngest daughter’s family. There, he found great joy in spending time with his grandchildren—babysitting, cheering them on, and watching them grow.
