WHEATON, IL — Officials say no one was hurt when Wheaton's Fourth of July fireworks show was forced to end early due to a "malfunction" Wednesday evening.

According to a statement shared on the City of Wheaton Facebook page, an operator for the show had a malfunction with one of the fireworks, which led to the rest of the show being canceled. Officials say this was done "as a precaution" and that members of the Wheaton Fire Department were onsite throughout the incident.

Those with questions are encouraged to email Wheaton Park District Director Mike Benard at mbenard@wheatonparks.org or by calling 630-510-4945.
