WINFIELD, IL — An armed intruder alert was enacted at Central DuPage Hospital Saturday afternoon after a patient threatened self harm, hospital spokesperson Chris King said. A patient in the hospital's emergency department revealed a knife threatening self harm and local law enforcement was called to the scene, King said. The patient was disarmed and is currently being evaluated. No staff or patients were harmed during the incident. King said the incident started at 2:45 p.m. and lasted about 30 minutes.
