Wheaton Attorney To Be Appointed To District 200 Board Of Education
Julie Kulovits fills the vacancy left by Mary Yeboah and will serve until next year's election when candidates will vie for a two-year term.

WHEATON, IL — A Wheaton attorney will fill a vacancy on the District 200 Board of Education and will be appointed to the seat at the board's meeting next week, the district announced on Friday.
Julie Kulovits fills the vacancy on the board left by Mary Yeboah, who resigned as a result of moving out of state. The district said that Kulovits was chosen from a field of 14 applicants interviewed for the board seat and about their goals for the district and its students.
Once officially appointed, she will serve on the board until next April's consolidated election at which time this board Position will be open for candidates to run for a 2-year term, fulfilling Mrs. Yeboah’s original term for which she was elected.

" Mrs. Kulovits brings to the board a strong understanding of board governance through her work as an attorney that interacts with boards of directors and other tax-exempt organizations," Board President Chris Crabtree said in a statement issued by the district in a news release. "Mrs. Kulovits brings unique experiences and skill sets to our team.”
Kulovits began her legal career at the Collins Law Firm, P.C. in Naperville where she was promoted to senior attorney before moving on to North American Spine Association where she served as General Counsel, the release said.

She now serves professional associations and other tax-exempt organizations remotely as Counsel for Tenenbaum Law Group PLLC, in Washington, D.C. Kulovits received a B.A. in Business Administration (Cum laude) from Augustana College and a Juris Doctor (Summa cum laude) from Northern Illinois University’s College of Law.
Kulovits has been a resident of District 200 since 2016 and has three children that attend Wiesbrook Elementary, where she has frequently volunteered her time over the years, the district said. Kulovits enjoys serving and giving back to her community.
She has served on the City of Wheaton’s Community Relations Commission and on the board of her homeowner’s association.
“I have enjoyed being part of the CUSD 200 community and wanted to give back and serve the great schools, teachers, students, and staff we have here in our district,” Kulovits said. “I’m looking forward to providing thoughtful and respectful leadership to support our district’s educators and equip all students in the District to succeed.”
