Dates For Yorkville's White Goods, Bulk Items Pickup Amnesty Week
The originally scheduled pickups on April 13 through 17 were postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

YORKVILLE, IL — The City of Yorkville announced Tuesday that the week of June 15 is scheduled to be White Goods/Bulk Items Amnesty Week, as the originally scheduled pickups on April 13 through 17 were postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. During this time, all items falling under these categories must be placed on the curb outside your home by 6 a.m. on your regular garbage pickup day, the City said. During your normal garbage day, you may place out an unlimited amount of white goods and bulk items for no additional charge, the City said in a Facebook post, adding that only one pass (pickup) will be made on your day.
The following white goods will be accepted for pickup:
- Air conditioners
- Clothes dryers
- Dishwashers
- Humidifiers/dehumidifiers
- Microwaves
- Refrigerators/freezers
- Stoves
- Trash compactors
- Washers
- Water softeners
The following bulk items will be accepted for pickup:

- Bookcases
- Carpet rolls cut into 4-foot length sections weighing less than 50 pounds each
- Mattresses/box springs
- Pianos/organs
- Sofas
- Tables/chairs
The following materials will not be accepted:
- Any white good items containing PCBs
- Auto parts
- Chemicals
- Decks
- Drums
- Large construction waste
- Paints
- Sheds
- Swimming pools
In a Facebook comment, the City wrote they will keep everyone informed regarding electronics pickups, and that Advanced hopes to have that "up and running soon."
