At that time, the Pit bull/Boxer mix was seen running north towards the Australian Cattle Dog and owner from a front yard in the 300 block of Windett ridge Road, before crossing the street and biting the neck area of the Australian Cattle Dog, according to the police report.

The owner of the Australian Cattle Dog tried to break the dogs apart and has skinned knees as a result. According to the police report, another person (the other owner or witness; not specified) came to help and the two dogs eventually released.

The owner of the Pit bull/Boxer mix told the officer that their dog was on an outside lead on his property, and when he was transitioning the dog from the lead to go inside, the dog broke free and escaped the yard, according to the police report.

Pictures were taken of a laceration to the Australian Cattle Dog's neck area caused from the bite, and the other dog wasn't injured, according to police.

All involved agreed to what had happened, and both owners said they'd be following up with the Yorkville Animal Hospital, as the owner of the Pit bull/Boxer mix was able to provide proof of his dog's vaccinations.

According to the police report, the owner of the Australian Cattle Dog advised police she didn't want any citations issued to the other dog's owner.
