Oswego Man in Custody After Being Charged with Multiple Offenses
Kendall County, IL (February 25, 2022, 11:45 AM)
Fifty-year-old Jeffrey Limacher of the 100 blk of Osage Ct in Oswego was taken into custody yesterday in the 5400 blk of Route 34 in Oswego. He is facing multiple charges following a lengthy multi-faceted investigation by Kendall County Sheriff’s Office detectives.
In January of 2020, Sheriff’s Deputies received information of an individual who was possibly associated with a business in Oswego, and they were possibly engaging in prohibited activities. The investigation revealed that individual to be Jeffrey Limacher, and it was discovered he was previously required to register as a child sex offender but his registration requirement had been fulfilled, meaning he is no longer required to report annually to a police department. He is still required to abide by the child sex offender restrictions and applicable state statutes. It was also discovered that the business he was possibly associated with caters primarily to a clientele of adolescents and young adults. As the investigation progressed detectives obtained numerous search warrants and additional evidence was collected and sent to the Illinois State Police Laboratory for evaluation. Upon receiving the results of these investigative measures the specific facts and circumstances of this case were presented to the Kendall County State’s Attorney’s Office for review of potential charges.
After a thorough investigation into the allegations, on February 23rd, 2022, the Kendall County State’s Attorney’s Office charged Limacher with one count each of Child Photography by a Sex Offender (class 2 felony), Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon (class 3 felony), and Unlawful Communication with a Child (class 4 felony).
Limacher was taken into custody on February 24th by members of the United States Marshal’s Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office. Limacher was brought to the Kendall County Corrections Center where he posted bond and was released from custody. His bond was set at $100,000/10%.
Sheriff Dwight Baird stated, “The Sheriff’s Office is committed to the safety and security of all residents within Kendall County. To meet this responsibility, we conduct regular compliance checks on sex offenders and violent offenders to ensure their compliance with state law. In addition, we will ensure any potential violations of state law are thoroughly investigated and violators are held accountable.”
**The public is reminded that criminal defendants are presumed innocent until the government is able to prove its charges in court beyond a reasonable doubt.**
