Pills Stolen, Harassment, Stolen ATV: Yorkville, Area Crime

The Yorkville Police Department and Kendall County Sheriff's office are investigating crime incidents from the third week of June 2020.

YORKVILLE, IL — The Yorkville Police Department and the Kendall County Sheriff's office responded to the following crime reports during the third week of June 2020:

Leaving the scene of an accident

William L. Marshall, 71, from the 200 block of West Kendall Drive in Yorkville is accused of leaving the scene of a car accident and failing to slow down. According to a report from the sheriff's office, Marshall was driving a 2009 Cadillac DTS southeast on West Kendall Drive around 2 p.m. Thursday, when the Cadillac hit a 2002 Ford Escort parked in the 400 block of West Kendall Drive. According to the report, 72-year-old John H. Grand, from the address where the car was parked, wasn't injured, however the front side bumper of Marshall's Cadillac hit the Escort's rear driver's side. According to the report, Marshall left without giving any information.

Burglary from vehicle

At least one unknown person stole $36 worth of prescription pills and change from an unlocked car between 9 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of State Street in Yorkville.

ATV theft

Kendall County Sheriff's office deputies were called at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday to a business in the 0-99 block of Business Route 30 in Montgomery to investigate a reported theft of an ATV. The matter remains under investigation, according to the sheriff's office.

Harassment through electronic communications

A Kendall County Sheriff's office deputy responded to a report of harassment through electronic communications at 11:56 p.m. Sunday in the 7700 bloc of Route 34 in Bristol Township. The incident is still under investigation

DUI

A Kendall County Sheriff’s office deputy saw a car drive off the roadway near the intersection of Route 34 and Lyncliff Drive in Bristol Township at 1:05 a.m. Monday. According to the sheriff's office report, the driver, 30-year-old Steven Velazquez from the 100 Block of Appletree Court in Yorkville, was arrested on accusations of DUI. Steven was taken to the Kendall County Jail for to be booked.

Violating an order of protection

Sheriff's office deputies were called to the 0-99 block of Hampton Road in Oswego Township at 4:47 p.m. Monday for a report of a violation of an order of protection. According to the sheriff's office report, the investigation into the violation report continues.

Domestic battery

Sheriff's office deputies were called to the 1000 block of U.S. Route 30 in Oswego Township at 3:44 a.m. Wednesday for a domestic battery report. According to the sheriff's office report, 23-year-old Charles D. Williams, from the 1200 block of U.S. Route 30 in Oswego Township, was arrested following an investigation on accusations of domestic battery, and taken to the Kendall County Jail to be booked.
