Raging Waves Waterpark Remains Closed Under State's Restore Plan

The latest update when Raging Waves Waterpark and area splash pads could open.

YORKVILLE, IL — The United City of Yorkville announced Wednesday that splash pads and water parks, specifically Raging Waves Waterpark in Yorkville, will remain closed under the guidance of the Restore Illinois Plan. State officials released guidance on swimming pools Friday afternoon, opening them up lap swimming and "light usage," while keeping splash pads and water parks like Raging Waves closed, the City said, adding that Raging Waves is not scheduled to be open until Phase 5 of the Restore Illinois Plan.

Raging Waves, located at 4000 N. Bridge Street, has drafted a "multi-page safety-focused reopening plan which has been previously submitted to the State, and has been in frequent, productive conversations with DCEO employees about the possibility of reopening this calendar year," the City said in a Wednesday Facebook post.

According to the City, the State’s Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) has been taking feedback, ideas, and plans from the public and the business community on business and industry reopenings.
