2. Former Vanderburgh councilor will now have a vote in CenterPoint cases (courierpress.com) — Evansville-area residents facing steep CenterPoint utility bills will soon have a local voice on the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission, as former Vanderburgh County Councilor Bob Deig has been appointed to the powerful rate-setting body. His January 12 start comes after years without Evansville representation and amid widespread frustration over recent double-digit bill increases across Southwestern Indiana.

EPD: Driver Who Fled at High Speed Failed to Yield to Fire Truck, Faces Charges (14news.com) — Evansville police say a 23-year-old man led officers on a high-speed chase along Morgan Avenue Friday afternoon, allegedly passing cars in oncoming lanes and failing to yield to an emergency fire truck. The driver was stopped near a Morgan Avenue shopping strip and booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail on resisting law enforcement and reckless driving charges.

Driver Charged After Two-Vehicle Crash in Gibson County (14news.com) — A serious two-vehicle crash in Gibson County sent one person to an Evansville hospital with significant injuries Friday night. Deputies say the other driver, a 25-year-old Mount Carmel man, was arrested at the scene on a charge of operating while intoxicated causing serious bodily injury as the investigation continues.
