• Pickup truck driver dies after accident at Main and 28th streets (jconline.com) — A Lafayette man died Thursday afternoon after his speeding pickup left Main Street and crashed near 28th Street, striking a pole, wall and tree and closing the road for several hours. Firefighters extricated him from the wreckage and he was taken to a hospital, where he died, and the coroner plans a forensic autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
   

• Asian faculty group demands Purdue end grad student admissions ban (jconline.com) — Purdue University’s West Lafayette campus is under fire from a national Asian faculty group, which is demanding the school end what faculty describe as a de facto ban on graduate applicants from China and several other countries. The group’s open letter urges Purdue to identify who ordered the change, disclose how many colleges are affected, and publicly recommit to academic freedom and fair admissions.
   

• Brody Baker quiets road noise for Harrison in return against McCutcheon (jconline.com) — Harrison junior guard Brody Baker returned to face his former McCutcheon teammates in Lafayette and poured in 20 points, helping the Raiders to a 53–31 win. Backed by a 17-point, 10-rebound night from senior Quinn Clary, Harrison stayed unbeaten while quieting a hostile road crowd in this local rivalry matchup.
