Here are the top three stories today in Lafayette:

  1. The Teal Road intersection, which includes South Fourth Street and Poland Hill Road, is set to undergo a complete closure starting from Jun. 1. The closure is part of a multi-million dollar Teal Road reconstruction project by the Indiana Department of Transportation, extending to Sagamore Parkway. A detour has been established and the intersection is projected to reopen in early August, with the entire Teal Road project, managed by Rieth Riley Construction, expected to conclude in October of the following year. (WLFI 18 News)
  2. Indiana State Police have arrested Tyreese Moten and Sonja Blakeney of West Lafayette on multiple felony charges related to drug dealing. The arrests were made following an investigation that revealed Moten's involvement in narcotics distribution. During an in-home visit, officers discovered suspected cocaine, marijuana, pills, and an unknown substance believed to be methamphetamine. (Fox 59)
  3. Families can enjoy a range of outdoor activities at the Celery Bog Nature Area in West Lafayette during the 11th Annual Free Family Nature Celebration on Saturday, May 20.
