Muscatine man arrested in Davenport; accused of driving wrong way, eluding (ourquadcities.com) — A late-night police pursuit in Davenport led to the arrest of a Muscatine man after he allegedly drove the wrong way on Tremont Street, nearly hit a state trooper, and ended up stuck in a cornfield. Troopers say he showed signs of drug impairment and is now being held in Scott County Jail without bond while he awaits an initial court appearance.

Fire damages Barrel House restaurant in downtown Davenport (wqad.com) — An early morning basement fire damaged the Barrel House restaurant in downtown Davenport on Wednesday, sending multiple fire trucks to Perry Street and Emerson Place but causing no injuries. Smoke damage and lost inventory are the biggest issues so far, and the owner says it’s still unclear how extensive repairs will be or what support the business may need moving forward.

3. Iowa Medicaid therapy changes could limit speech services for young children (wqad.com) — Families in Davenport who rely on Medicaid-covered speech therapy for young children could soon face shorter sessions and longer waitlists. A proposed state change would only reimburse one 15-minute therapy block per day, and Rock Valley Physical Therapy in Davenport warns the cut from typical 40–45 minute visits could seriously hinder kids’ early development progress.

4. 3 men charged after shooting building and SUV, police say (kwqc.com) — Davenport police have charged three young men after shots were fired at a woman’s SUV and a nearby building near West River Drive and Harrison Street in early November. Officers recovered shell casings and found the vehicle and a patio door damaged by gunfire. The suspects are being held in Scott County Jail on cash-only bonds.
