Overland Park Walmart Supercenter Celebrates Re-Grand Opening
Newly remodeled Supercenter reopens with customer-centric features, community-focused mural & more following innovative store transformation
Walmart customers in Overland Park were welcomed inside the newly transformed Supercenter at 11701 Metcalf Avenue Friday morning, October 4, as the much-anticipated project is now complete. The store’s associates marked the occasion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, community celebration and unveiling of a community-inspired mural. The event was also attended by representatives of five local nonprofit organizations that received a combined $24,000 in grants.
Friday’s event featured the singing of the national anthem by cashier Hannah Purdy, in addition to an official ribbon-cutting with members of the Overland Park Chamber of Commerce and the store’s longest-tenured associates – including Jill Proctor, Eric Deiter and Ivy Taylor-Vaughn – who combined have nearly 100 years of service to Walmart customers. Guests enjoyed refreshments, vendor samples, giveaways, special guest appearances and more.
During the re-grand opening celebration, Walmart Store Manager James Bradshaw highlighted the Supercenter’s transformed departments as well as the new interactive features now available to customers, including:
