Overland Park Welcomes First K9 Resorts in Kansas
K9 Resorts of Overland Park will hold their grand opening event on October 1
On Saturday, October 1, K9 Resorts of Overland Park will hold its grand opening ceremony at 8200 West 135th Street, Overland Park. K9 Resorts, often referred to as the “Ritz Carlton of Dog Hotels,” provides its canine guests with a luxury, resort-style environment designed with their health and comfort in mind.
From 11 a.m to 2 p.m. the community is invited to partake in the grand opening celebration, which will include a ribbon cutting ceremony, free shaved ice from local favorite Paige’s Shaved Ice, and tours of the brand-new, state-of-the-art facility. Dog treats will be provided by PawsAbilities, a local Kansas City nonprofit organization offering people with disabilities skill building and job opportunities. While this event is for humans only, the PawsAbilities treats will be available for attendees to take home to their four-legged friends.
The new location boasts a 7,200-square-foot indoor and outdoor space complete with luxury accommodations including an advanced air purification system, Microban incorporated in the flooring and premium Kuranda dog bedding. Canine guests will be cared for by an attentive, pet-centric team trained to provide best-in-class service. Located right off Route 69, near B&B Theaters, K9 Resorts of Overland Park is the first location for the national luxury pet hotel franchise in Kansas.

Stacie McCarty, a marketing and management professional who formerly served as the senior project manager for Hallmark Cards Corporate, is the owner of K9 Resorts of Overland Park. The new location will add 20 jobs to the local economy.
