Backed by a federal grant and part of a broader safety action plan, city leaders say more traffic-calming projects are coming as data pinpoints the most dangerous streets. 
2. New downtown OP farmers' market pavilion taking shape. When will it open? (johnsoncountypost.com) — A new enclosed farmers’ market pavilion and Clock Tower Landing in downtown Overland Park are on track to open for the 2026 market season, with construction expected to finish next spring. They say incidents are rising and can turn into fast, explosive fires, urging people to follow charging instructions, watch for damaged batteries, and call 911 rather than trying to fight a lithium fire themselves.
