Here are the top three stories in Bowling Green today:
- With the primary election just days away, Republican candidates for the Kentucky gubernatorial race are intensifying their campaign efforts. Attorney General Daniel Cameron and Agriculture Commissioner Ryan Quarles have recently visited Bowling Green as part of their tours, aiming to secure a strong showing on Tuesday. However, low voter turnout remains a concern, as Secretary of State Michael Adams highlighted the historically poor participation in the primary and emphasized the need for higher engagement to ensure fair representation in the upcoming fall elections. - A woman's vehicle driving from Cave City to Bowling Green was struck by lighting. Micelle Meridith says the lighting struck the back window close to the antenna and then went out the side of the vehicle. The holes from the lighting look similar to bullet holes where the lightning entered and exited the car. Michelle and her granddaughter were not harmed when the lighting struck. Firefighters responded to the incident and contained the fire, but the vehicle was totaled. (WBKO)
- The Fire Department responds to a crash in Warren County. Thursday night on Benelo Road, the fire department was dispatched for a single-car crash. Upon arrival, the driver was already out of the vehicle that left the road and was sitting at its final resting place about 80 -100 feet off the road. The driver refused medical care at the scene from EMS but later went to the hospital. (wnky.com)
