- On Tuesday evening, Jun. 20, a huge sinkhole opened under Cumberland Trace Elementary school's parking lot in Bowling Green. Warren County Schools is currently working to repair the damage to school grounds and stop the sinkhole from growing larger. According to district officials, the sinkhole began as a small hole in the asphalt that they noticed in the spring. (WHAS 11)
- On Thursday, Jun. 22, the Warren County Fiscal Court approved a budget of about $64.8 million for the 2023-24 fiscal year. Warren County Treasurer Greg Burrell said the budget is down about $10 million from last year because of ARPA grant funds that the county received last year. According to Burrell, the county is in a "good place financially." (WBKO)
- On Tuesday, Jun. 20, 21-year-old Hailee Reed of Stanford accepted a plea agreement and plead guilty to a count of second Degree Terroristic Threatening. The Western Kentucky University student was arrested on Sep. 14, 2022 after sending a bomb threat over social media, which caused evacuations of several campus buildings and areas in Bowling Green. - Now through Friday, Jun. 30, Wilkinson Trace will be closed in front of Sloan Convention Center in Bowling Green. There is a detour route shown on the map at the link. (City of Bowling Green via Twitter)
- Bowling Green Police is asking for the public's assistance in identifying an unknown suspect who stole clothing and jewelry totaling more than $16,000 from a victim’s room at the Kentucky Grand Hotel on Jun. 2. View the link to see a photo of the suspect. There is a reward of up to $1,000 for an anonymous tip about the incident. (WBKO)
- A Logan County Sheriff deputy arrested 22-year-old Marcuz Edward Harris of Bowling Green on Jun. 17 for having 168 grams of marijuana and an AR-style rifle. Harris was charged with trafficking in marijuana, possession of marijuana, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and more. (Franklin Favorite)
