Here are the top three stories today in Bowling Green:
- A 34-year-old woman has been indicted by a Warren County grand jury on charges related to the alleged abuse of three children. According to local authorities, the children recounted attempting to escape the woman's mistreatment by jumping from their two-story bedroom window and seeking assistance for their sibling who remained at home. These accusations stem from an arrest made in December 2022. (WBKO)
- The Bowling Green Area Convention & Visitors Bureau provided the Kentucky Museum with a $75,000 grant to bring their "Sonic Landscape" exhibition to life. This exhibit will focus on celebrating south central Kentucky's musical heritage, as well as showcase oral history interviews and documentation by the folklife programs at WKU and within the state as a whole. It's set to open in early 2025 and will replace the Mammoth Cave exhibit that's currently in its place. (College Heights Herald)
- Kentucky's State Police Department will officially celebrate 75 years of service on Saturday, Jul. 1. The department held a proper celebration earlier this week that focused on showcasing the growth, progress, and success the team has accomplished since they first started back in 1948. According to the troopers, these anniversary milestones provide them with the opportunity to look back on all they have accomplished but also learn how to grow and better serve the state of Kentucky.
