The unofficial end of summer has finally arrived and it’s important to savor every last minute of it. The Lexington, Kentucky area has plenty of options to help make your Labor Day weekend one to remember.
Enjoy some country music, play some golf for a good cause, or get out of the city for a campout under the stars.

Red, White, & Boom Music Festival
Country music fans will absolutely love this festival. The shows begin on Friday and the entire festival ends on Sunday evening, making Red, White, & Boom the ideal music festival for Labor Day in Lexington. Luke Bryan, Sam Hunt, and Blake Shelton are just some of the names scheduled to entertain the crowds this weekend in Lexington. Single day general admission tickets start at $69.50 and a full three day pass will run you $199. Tickets can be purchased here.

The Griffin Gate Golf Club is hosting a tournament on Labor Day to benefit PGA Hope, a charity dedicated to helping Veterans with disabilities “enhance their physical, mental, social and emotional well-being.” For $125, participants will play 18 holes of golf as well as enjoy a continental breakfast and gourmet lunch. Prizes are awarded for longest drive, closest to the pin, most accurate drive, and hole in one!
For all the animal lovers out there, the Labor Day Celebration Campout is worth checking out. The campout is held in conjunction with the Bluegrass Classic Dog Show. Many of the four legged participants and their owners pitch tents and “ruff it” (pun intended) for all of Labor Day weekend. The whole family can enjoy activities like free pony rides, movie nights, free lunch and even NASCAR races.
