Louisiana State University Shreveport: LSU Shreveport Staff Member Among Six Alumni Selected For 40 Under Forty Class Of 2021

LSU Shreveport Director of Financial Aid and alumna Chelsey Chance Weatherly was selected among six alumni for the 40 Under Forty Class of 2021.

Shreveport, LA-LSU Shreveport is proud to recognize one staff member among six alumni who were selected for the 40 Under Forty Class of 2021. The honorees were announced Friday. Selections were made by the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce and Young Professional Initiative (YPI) from among 200 applicants to the program.

The alumni honored include Craig McCloud, Sarah McKinney, Madison Poche, Brittainy Pope, Britney Ratcliff, and Chelsey Chance Weatherly.

Chance Weatherly is both an alumna and the Director of Financial Aid at LSUS.

"I am grateful and overwhelmed to be among the impressive class of 2021 40 Under Forty honorees," Chance Weatherly said. "It's an honor to join a stellar group of LSUS colleagues and graduates who have received this honor. I'm proud to represent LSUS in our community and am excited to engage with other young professionals to promote the many wonderful things going on at LSUS. I'd also like to congratulate my fellow 2021 classmates!"

The 40 Under Forty Awards profile Northwest Louisiana's outstanding entrepreneurs, executives, managers, and professionals in public, private, or nonprofit sectors. Winners are chosen based on such values as achievement, experience and innovation, vision, leadership, and community involvement. Honorees are celebrated at the 40 Under Forty Awards Gala held each December. The awards ceremony is the signature event for YPI and is presented by The Forum.

"I've seen a lot of classes, and we've had some really great ones, but this is a really fantastic class," YPI Immediate Past Chair Jana Freeman Forrest said in the livestreamed announcement ceremony. "It's a special class, just like our 2020 and all years' past, but it's just great to see people together again and celebrating each other and celebrating the successes of everybody in this room."
