1. State flags rodents again at Shreveport's Tinseltown in third inspection (ktbs.com) — Health inspectors have again found rodent activity at Shreveport’s Tinseltown on Millicent Way, issuing a critical violation and a “Red Card” after repeated problems at the snack bar and inside an XD theater. State officials say dead rodents and new rat holes were still present during a Nov. 17 re-inspection, and warn the theater’s operating permit could be revoked if issues and fees aren’t resolved.
   

2. 3 escape from home after early morning fire (ktbs.com) — Three people safely escaped a house fire in Shreveport early Saturday morning, but firefighters say the home had no working smoke alarms. Crews needed 37 firefighters to control the blaze on Kirby Place, and investigators are looking at a possible electrical issue. Residents can request free smoke alarms and help with escape plans from the Shreveport Fire Prevention Bureau.
   

3. Foster families in Minden get Christmas surprise (ksla.com) — Foster families from around Minden just shared an early Christmas meal and gift giveaway, while Methodist Foster Care used the gathering to highlight a growing need in our region. The agency’s new northwest Louisiana office is actively seeking foster and respite homes in Shreveport, Bossier, and nearby communities, inviting interested residents to sign up online to support local children.
   

4. LSUS teams pull off RRAC road sweep at LSUA (shreveportbossierjournal.com) — LSU Shreveport basketball fans have plenty to cheer about after both the men’s and women’s teams earned conference road wins over LSU Alexandria. The men rallied from a halftime deficit behind Khi Wallace’s huge double-double, while the women forced 29 turnovers to stay unbeaten in Red River play. The Pilots head to Louisiana Christian next.
   

5. Arkansas priest pleads guilty to animal cruelty, reassigned to Shreveport (ktbs.com) — A Catholic priest from West Memphis, Arkansas, who recently pleaded guilty to two counts of animal cruelty is being reassigned to the Diocese of Shreveport starting January 1. Local Catholics may soon see him serving in an as-yet-unannounced role here, following his removal from previous parish posts during the criminal case.
