MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — A man is dead following a single-car crash in Montgomery County on Wednesday. According to police, the crash occurred around 1:20 a.m. near the intersection of Bethesda Church Road and Johnson Drive. A preliminary investigation revealed that a black 2025 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross was traveling on Bethesda Church Road when, for reasons still unknown, the car left the roadway and collided with a tree. First responders located the adult male driver with severe injuries. He was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating the crash. Police said the victim's name will be released following notification of family.
