Teen Killed In 2-Car Collision In Montgomery County

Three others were injured in the crash, which prompted road closures on Wednesday morning.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — A 15-year-old girl is dead following a two-car collision in Montgomery County on Wednesday, according to police.

Authorities said the crash occurred around 11:20 a.m. on Lockwood Drive near Burnt Mills Road.

According to police, a white Lexus GS350 was traveling on Lockwood Drive when, for reasons still under investigation, it lost control, struck a vehicle and then a pole.

The girl, who was a passenger in the Lexus, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two female passengers were also hospitalized. Police said one was in critical condition, while the other suffered minor injuries.

The 18-year-old male driver of the Lexus also suffered minor injuries but was not hospitalized.

The driver in the second vehicle was not injured.

According to police, Lockwood and Northwood Drives were closed following the crash. Lockwood at Burnt Mills was also shut down.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating the crash. Police said the victim's name will be released following notification of family.
