School Board Seeks Input on New Superintendent
The community can provide input online or attend a community forum.

The Baltimore County Board of Education wants to know what qualities you think the new superintendent should have.
Current Schools Superintendent Joe A. Hairston is at the end of the school year.
The search firm Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates to assist with the national search. The firm will help with collecting input from the community at public meetings and online.

The school board is asking for input from the community on specific characteristics when looking for the new head of the nation's 26th largest school district.
Community members can complete this form online or attend one of the three community forums. Representatives from the search firm will cover the forums. They will be:

- Tuesday, Jan. 17 at 6:30 p.m. at Loch Raven High School on 1212 Cowpens Avenue in Towson.
- Thursday, Jan. 19 at 6 p.m. at at Woodlawn High School on 1801 Woodlawn Drive in Woodlawn, and
- Thursday, Jan. 19 at 6 p.m. at Kenwood High School on 501 Stemmers Run Road in Middle River.
Starting in late February, HYA will begin screening candidates and the school board will beging interviewing candidates in in May and June, according a timeline presented at a . By June, the board should vote to appoint a new superintendent, who will take office on July 1.
