Councilman Marks to Pause Gerst Farm Review, Hold Three Meetings

Three Zoom meetings are planned to address open space, transportation, and community amenities.

This morning, I informed the developer of the Gerst Farm project that I will not bring Resolution 80-20 forward for a vote on Tuesday.

As a resident of Perry Hall for 42 years and the longest-serving President of the Perry Hall Improvement Association, I care deeply about this community. I listen to my constituents, and will work to improve any development that is built here. I am requiring a pause so the developer can address issues raised at the work session.

Over the next few weeks, I will use the time to engage the public through three Zoom meetings that will discuss different issues that affect the quality of life of residents along Gerst Road: Transportation, Open Space, Community Amenities. These recommendations will form the basis for my discussions with Baltimore County and any resolution that advances development of the Gerst property.

I would like to close by thanking those with whom I have had detailed, civil conversations about this project, including the Keep Gerst Green committee, neighboring homeowners association, and the Perry Hall Improvement Association.
