PERRY HALL, MD — Two Baltimore County women scored a $50,000 jackpot while partaking in their lottery tradition.

The anonymous duo, nicknamed the "Original Pranksters," scored their top prize in Perry Hall.

The pals enjoy hanging out, eating and checking for lottery winners. The Original Pranksters, known for joking around together, were thrilled to have a winner at DeSantis' Pizza Grill & Bar at 9638 Belair Road.

The friends, who are also colleagues, scratch off the Winning Numbers and Your Numbers sections without revealing the prize amounts. They saw they had just one match between the two sets of numbers but didn't reveal their prize right away. Before they checked their winnings, they guessed how much it could be.

“At least we won $5,” one of the women said jokingly.

Their laughter turned to joy when they saw the magnitude of their victory.

The Original Pranksters play a few times a month and put any winnings into the pot for next time.

“We definitely set a limit,” one winner said of their playing strategy.

This time, they don't know what they'll do with their sizable prize.

“I still don’t believe we won,” said one half of the Original Pranksters in a May 8 press release announcing their victory.

DeSantis' will collect a $500 bonus for selling the winning Big Money scratch-off.

The $5 ticket debuted in February. This is the fourth top prize won so far. There are still three $50,000 unclaimed jackpots and smaller prizes ranging from $5 to $5,000.
