A Family Affair Children's Center

We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes once a week and we take several field trips a year. Our 2’s and 3’s Program In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting. Our 4’s and 5’s Program Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week. Before and After School Care We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary. We are open when schools are closed. We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as: ○ Table games ○ Crafts ○ Legos ○ Outdoor play We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system. Summer Camp We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders. Looking to get a healthy start on the new year?  The <a href="http://www.dnr.maryland.gov/publiclands/firstdayhikes.asp" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Maryland Department of Natural Resources</a> is hosting several First Day Hikes across the state on Jan. 1, 2013—including one in the Perry Hall and Kingsville area. Starting at 10 a.m. on New Year's Day, participants will gather at the parking lot outlet for theGunpowder Falls State Park at 10000 Belair Rd. The two-mile guided hike may include a visit to sawmill ruins or the Pot Rocks geological formation.  "Participants are asked to wear clothes and shoes appropriate for the weather (rain, snow or shine), and bring water for drinking, and a camera (optional). Sturdy footwear is recommended," according to the MDNR.  Dogs on a leash may also attend.  The guided hike is free but reservations must be made with the park in advance by calling 410-592-2897.  See the Patch event listing for more details.
