Man Accused of Theft From Perry Hall Car

Police arrested a man early Thursday morning after residents of a Perry Hall neighborhood reported suspicious behavior, Baltimore County police said.

At about 1:44 a.m. on Jan. 17, in the 3900 block of Link Avenue, area residents called 911 after seeing a suspicious person. Police arrived and found a man looking into cars, according to Officer Mark Dorsey of the Parkville police precinct. 

The man was unable to explain why he was in the area and police found several personal items, including multiple pairs of sunglasses, a camera and jewelry, in his backpack, Dorsey said.

Around that same time, a homeowner approached police to report that several items, matching the items in the man's backpack, were missing from a vehicle that had been parked in the homeowner's driveway, he said. 

Police arrested and identified the man as 21-year-old Stephan Randolph Edwards of the unit block of Aven Way in Nottingham, Dorsey said.

Edwards was charged with fourth-degree burglary, rogue and vagabond and theft of less than $1,000, online court records show. He remained at the Baltimore County Detention Center into Thursday evening.

Dorsey praised residents for calling 911 and urged anyone who sees suspicious behavior to report it to police immediately.
