A Family Affair Children's Center

We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes once a week and we take several field trips a year. Our 2’s and 3’s Program In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting. Our 4’s and 5’s Program Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week. Before and After School Care We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary. We are open when schools are closed. We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as: ○ Table games ○ Crafts ○ Legos ○ Outdoor play We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system. Summer Camp We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders. Ready for the 2013? Just remember that some services are kicking off the new year with a closure.  On New Year's Eve, Dec. 31, trash and recycling will function as usual, as will county offices, senior centers, health department clinics, the animal shelter, landfills and drop-off centers. Circuit and district courts will be closed, and the Perry Hall Library will close at 5:30 p.m. On New Year's Day, Jan. 1, government offices, district and circuit courts, health department clinics, libraries, senior centers, landfills and drop-off centers and the county animal shelter will be closed. Those whose trash would normally be collected on Jan. 1, should set it out on Tuesday night to be collected on Jan. 2. Those with recyclables are asked to hold them until the following week, or take them to a drop-off center.  The United States Post Office and area banks are also generally closed.
