Perry Hall Giorgio's To Reopen With New Name

The restaurant is expected to reopen after the new year.

Its doors are locked, its Facebook page is down and its voicemail system is full—for more than a week, the Perry Hall Giorgio's at 9117 has been closed.

But Anne Persing, who owns the property with her husband James Persing, says the closure is only temporary. Sometime in January, hungry customers can return to the carryout restaurant under a new owner and a new name, she said.

The new owner is actually a past owner of Giorgio's, Persing said, adding that the restaurant has changed hands multiple times over the past 25 years.

She and her husband first got involved in the property about 45 years ago. At that time, James Persing ran a pizza shop and meat market in the space. A beauty shop and liquor store were also part of strip, she said.

The Maryland Department of Assessments and Taxation shows that the original 2,156-square-foot structure was first built in 1960.
