A Family Affair Children's Center

We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes once a week and we take several field trips a year. Our 2’s and 3’s Program In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting. Our 4’s and 5’s Program Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week. Before and After School Care We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary. We are open when schools are closed. We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as: ○ Table games ○ Crafts ○ Legos ○ Outdoor play We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system. Summer Camp We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders. Dirt, downed trees and construction equipment fill an 18-acre lot planned to hold 39 single-family homes at Chapel Road and Cross Road.  While the Reserve at Camp Chapel housing development gained approval about four years ago, construction was held until this winter due to the struggling economy, Patch reported.  A representative of developer <a href="http://www.drhorton.com/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">D.R. Horton</a> said construction of homes will likely begin in January, and that the development should be completed by the spring.  The planned neighborhood is named after a former horse farm and the historic Camp Chapel United Methodist Church nearby. Projected new residents will add approximately nine students to Gunpowder Elementary School, six students to Perry Hall Middle School and seven students to Perry Hall High School, according to a Baltimore County school impact analysis document dated July 19, 2006, provided by the <a href="http://www.baltimorecountymd.gov/agencies/planning/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Baltimore County Department of Planning</a>.
