MCPS Weather Closures Mean More School This Summer
Montgomery County Public Schools students will see a later start to summer because of weather-related closings.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — Montgomery County Public Schools students will see a later start to summer this June, due to weather-related events that led to cancelled classes in the area.
Since school was cancelled for Wednesday's snow storm, the last day of school will now be June 15.
The original closing day was June 12, but was extended because of weather related events Feb. 7, March 2 and now March 21.

By Maryland law, MCPS cannot extend the school year past June 15. If there are more weather-related closings, school officials said the first day of Spring Break on March 26 will be used as a make-up day.
