MD Weather: Storms, Showers, Coastal Flooding In Weekend Forecast
Heavy downpours are possible Friday in the Baltimore area, followed by less chance of rain on Saturday. Here's the latest MD timeline.
MARYLAND — Expect showers and possibly a thunderstorm producing heavy rain on Friday through much of the Baltimore-Washington, D.C., region, according to the National Weather Service. Storm chances are less likely on Saturday, while warmer temperatures and humidity will arrive on Sunday and Monday, according to the National Weather Service.
The NWS issued a hazardous weather outlook for the Baltimore- DC area on Friday, with isolated instances of flooding possible from late Friday morning through early evening, especially in the Interstate 95 corridor urban areas. Counties covered by the outlook include: Cecil, Baltimore, Prince George's, Anne Arundel, Charles, St. Marys, Calvert, Montgomery, Howard and Harford.
A small craft advisory remained in effect on Friday through 2 a.m. on Saturday for the Chesapeake Bay from North Beach to Drum Point, Maryland and from Drum Point to Smith Point, according to the National Weather Service.

A coastal hazard advisory was also in effect due to rip tides for the Atlantic Beaches of Maryland, as well as Eastern Currituck County, in North Carolina and Virginia Beach, Virginia, according to the National Weather service. The advisory extends through Friday evening.
Looking ahead to Monday, the NWS said isolated severe thunderstorms are possible Monday afternoon and evening in the D.C. area.

The downpours on Friday could cause localized flooding in the DC-Baltimore region, according to the Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang. After more rain on Saturday, summer sunshine will take over on Sunday, with only a slight chance of showers, the Capital Weather Gang said.
Patchy fog will appear before 1 p.m. on Friday, with a high temperature near 78.
Showers will likely continue into the evening hours, with a thunderstorm possibly appearing before 2 a.m., followed by scattered showers, according to the NWS forecast. Patchy fog may appear after 10 p.m., but otherwise expect cloudy skies, with a low of 69 and a southeast wind of 6 to 8 mph.
Isolated showers before 12 noon are expected Saturday, switching over to a chance of showers and thunderstorms from noon to 2 p.m., and then showers and a thunderstorm after 2 p.m. Skies will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 85, according to the NWS forecast.
Saturday night, thunderstorms are likely before 11 p.m., changing over to a chance of showers between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. The low temperature will be around 68 under mostly cloudy skies, NWS said.

WUSA9 forecasters are calling for a better chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening on Friday.
"We may see a little sunshine break through the clouds during the afternoon," WUSA9 said. "If this happens, it could help destabilize the atmosphere and support a few stronger storms later in the afternoon and evening. A couple of storms could reach severe limits."

Saturday: A chance of showers before noon, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between noon and 2pm, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 2pm. High near 86, with mostly cloudy skies. South wind 5 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, although higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Saturday Night: Showers and thunderstorms likely before 11pm, then a chance of showers and possible thunderstorms between 11pm and 2am. Mostly cloudy skies, with a low around 71. After midnight, expect a south wind of 6 mph becoming light and variable. Chance of precipitation is 60% New precipitation amounts may be less than a tenth of an inch, but expect higher amounts in possible thunderstorms.
Sunday: A chance of showers, which will become likely showers and a possible thunderstorm after 2pm. Expect partly sunny skies with a high near 89. In the morning, expect a light and variable wind to from the southwest 5 to 7 mph Chance of precipitation is 60%.
Sunday Night: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 8pm, then a chance of showers between 8pm and 2am, with a chance of showers after 2am Mostly cloudy, with a low around 74. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
Monday: A chance of showers possible, folloed by showers and thunderstorms after 2pm, with a high near 89. Chance of precipitation is 80%.
Monday Night: Showers and thunderstorms before 2am, then a chance of showers, with a low around 71. Chance of precipitation is 80%.
Tuesday: Expect a chance of showers, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 2pm. Mostly cloudy skies, with a high near 84. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
