Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued For 11 MD Counties, Baltimore City
A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for 11 Maryland counties, plus Baltimore city, Friday afternoon and evening.
MARYLAND — Friday evening could be storm along Maryland's I-95 corridor with large hail, heavy rains and damaging winds possible.
A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 7 p.m. for 11 Maryland counties: Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Cecil, Charles, Frederick, Harford, Howard, Montgomery, Prince George's and Washington counties, plus the city of Baltimore.
Isolated instances of flooding are possible through this evening, the National Weather Service said.

Cities in the watch area include: Aberdeen, Annapolis, Arnold, Bel Air, Bethesda, Bowie, Camp Springs, Catonsville, College Park, Columbia, Dundalk, Edgewood, Eldersburg, Elkton, Ellicott City, Essex, Frederick, Gaithersburg, Germantown, Glen Burnie, Greenbelt, Hagerstown, Havre De Grace, Joppatowne, Laurel, Odenton, Pikesville, Rockville, Severn, Severna Park, Silver Spring, Suitland-Silver Hill, Towson and Westminster.
The National Weather Service said there is also a flooding risk, prompting the office to issue a hazardous weather outlook for the region.

Friday Afternoon: Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Some storms could be severe, with large hail, hail, damaging winds, gusty winds, and heavy rain. Partly sunny, with a high near 94. South wind around 13 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
Friday Night: Scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2am. Some storms could be severe, with hail, gusty winds, and heavy rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 74. South wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
Saturday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 2pm. Some of the storms could produce small hail, gusty winds, and heavy rain. High near 89. Southwest wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Saturday Night: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 8pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly between 8pm and 2am. Some of the storms could produce small hail, gusty winds, and heavy rain. Low around 70. Light and variable wind. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Sunday: Scattered showers, mainly between 8am and 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 86. North wind 3 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 68.
Independence Day: Mostly sunny, with a high near 89.
