1 Dead, 1 Injured In Georgia Avenue Crash: Police

ASPEN HILL, MD — A Gaithersburg man died in a car crash on Georgia Avenue in Aspen Hill early Wednesday morning, police said.

Police responded to the crash at Georgia Avenue at Hewitt Avenue at about 1:49 a.m. Arriving officers found two men injured on the scene and transported them to Suburban Hospital, police said.

Preliminary investigation reveals an adult male driver was operating a 2007 Nissan Frontier traveling northbound on Georgia Avenue. The driver then struck a 2017 Toyota Tacoma, who was attempting to turn left from westbound Hewitt Avenue onto southbound Georgia Avenue.

The driver of the Nissan succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, police said. He has been identified as Mario Adalberto Montoya Flores, 28, of N Summit Avenue in Gaithersburg.

The driver of the Toyota sustained non-life-threatening injuries and received treatment at the hospital, police said.
