3 Teens Charged With Carjacking In Silver Spring

Three teenage boys were arrested over the weekend and are being held without bond for an armed carjacking in Silver Spring, police said.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Three teenage boys were arrested over the weekend and are being held without bond for an armed carjacking in Silver Spring, according to the Montgomery County Department of Police.

One 17-year-old and two 15-year-olds are accused of carjacking that occurred about 9:45 p.m. Friday in the 13700 block of Colgate Way.

Police said the three suspects physically assaulted the victim after got out of her Lexus in a parking lot. The teens took her car keys, cellphone and drove away in her vehicle.

The victim was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, a police news release said.

On Saturday, officers arrested all three suspects at a 7-Eleven on Lockwood Drive as they left the stolen Lexus.

The 17-year-old was taken to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he was charged as an adult with armed carjacking and related charges.

Police said the 15-year-olds were taken to a juvenile detention center facing the same charges.
