A look at five things you need to know to help get you through the day.

Good Morning! What five things do you need to know to stay up-to-date about what’s going on in the community? Patch has you covered this Monday morning:

1. The National Weather Service is issuing a code orange day. With temperatures reaching the mid 90s, the warning stresses that "children, people with asthma, heart disease, lung disease, and the elderly" should avoid outdoor activities." Into the evening, expect a chance of thunderstorms and temperaturea in the mid 70s. You can find more information at Clean air partners

2. Today in history, former President Franklin D. Roosevelt was nominated to a third term in the White House. This unprecedented event took place in 1940. He eventually went on to be elected to his fourth term but passed away from health problems before he could finish. He is the only U.S. president to have served more than two terms in office.
