5 Things You Need to Know Today: June 2

Happy Thursday! What five things do you need to know to stay up-to-date about what’s going on in the community? Stay tuned to Patch this morning to get the scoop.

1. Expect sunny skies with a high near 84 degrees. Into the evening the weather may get a little cooler with a low around 54 degrees and mostly clear skies.

2. Enjoy the smooth Jazz of the Greater U Street Jazz collective on the Silver Spring's  Veterans Plaza (across from the Majestic movie theater) for free! The group consists of National Endowment of the Arts Fellow, Art Cobb on the drums vocalist Cashandra Bacon, bassist Thomas View and much more. The event starts at 7 p.m.
