Beltway Driver Seriously Hurt After Rear-Ending Tractor-Trailer
A tractor-trailer carrying 43,000 pounds of paper was rear-ended Tuesday afternoon on the Beltway, a fire official said.

SILVER SPRING, MD — The driver of a pickup truck was seriously injured Tuesday after crashing into the back of a tractor-trailer on the Capital Beltway, a Montgomery County Fire and Rescue official said.
The tractor-trailer, which was carrying 43,000 pounds of paper, was rear-ended around 3:45 p.m. between the University Boulevard and New Hampshire Avenue exits in Silver Spring.
Fire and Rescue spokesman Pete Piringer said the driver was pinned for more than 30 minutes and was taken to a hospital. No updates were provided on the driver's condition as of Wednesday morning.
