Body Found Near Silver Spring Bus Stop, Police Seek Tips

A Silver Spring man was found dead near a bus stop and Montgomery County Police are asking for any information about the homicide.

SILVER SPRING, MD — A Silver Spring man was found dead Tuesday near a bus stop and Montgomery County Police are asking for any information the public can share about the homicide.

On Thursday authorities said the victim was Edilberto Borja-Cardona, 19, who was found with trauma to the body. Borja-Cardona was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police were called about 2:38 p.m. Tuesday to the area behind a Ride On Bus stop in the 9300 block of Piney Branch Road and found Borja-Cardona.

His body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore, where an autopsy will officially determine the cause and manner of death.
