County Adds 107 Coronavirus Cases; Deaths Hit 762
Confirmed coronavirus cases in Montgomery County has grown by 107 since Thursday, bringing its total to 18,139.
SILVER SPRING, MD — The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Montgomery County has grown by 107 since Thursday, according to Maryland health officials, bringing its total to 18,139.
In that same time span, four more people have died from the new coronavirus — pushing the local fatality count to 762. Another 39 people may have died from COVID-19, but a laboratory test is still needed to confirm the cause of death.
The county — which is home to roughly 1.1 million residents — continues to have the highest number of deaths in the state. It also has the second highest number of confirmed cases, after Prince George's County, which has 23,372, according to the latest figures.

Statewide, there have been 93,806 confirmed cases, 3,429 deaths, and 136 "probable deaths." Of the 528 people currently hospitalized, 135 are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
