County Records 100 New Coronavirus Cases; Deaths Total 793

Montgomery County now has 20,993​​​ coronavirus cases and 793​ deaths.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Montgomery County on Friday recorded 100 new coronavirus infections and one additional fatality, bringing its total to 20,993 cases and 793 deaths.

There were 40 "probable deaths" in the county — or deaths that were linked to COVID-19 but never confirmed by a lab test.

The county, which has roughly 1.1 million residents, continues to have the highest number of deaths in the state. It also has the second highest number of confirmed cases, after Prince George's County, which has 27,439, according to the latest figures.

Statewide, there have been 114,724 confirmed cases, 3,685 deaths, and 143 "probable deaths." Of the 369 people currently hospitalized, 89 are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
